Premier Medical Direct Primary Care

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an alternate payment model which improves access to high level primary healthcare with a simple membership fee.  This model allows extraordinary access to your doctor and nurse practitioner through in-person office visits, telemed visits, phone calls, text messaging and email.

Our goal is make quality care convenient for patients!

In 2021, Dr. Fabrizio and her long time friend and nurse practitioner, Angie Mixon, decided they wanted more out of primary care.  After talking to many patients, insurance companies and other direct primary care physicians, they decided to adopt the Direct Primary Care model where they could provide a higher level of service and spend more time with the patients they love.

OUR TEAM

Adrienne Fabrizio, MD, attended the University of South Carolina and continued her education at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, where she obtained her Medical Doctor degree. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Richland Memorial Hospital, now Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, where she served as Chief Resident.

During medical school, she met her husband, Steve, who is also a physician. After completing their residencies in Internal Medicine, Dr. Fabrizio and her husband moved to Savannah in 2001. From 2001 until 2021, she worked at Memorial Health, where she served in several capacities. In addition to her primary care practice on the Islands, she supervised the SCAD Health Clinic for many years, was involved in the teaching program for Internal Medicine residents and sat on numerous committees to serve the hospital.

Dr. Fabrizio loves spending time with her husband, her two boys, and her dog. When not at her primary care office, she also enjoys boating with her husband and watching her kids play soccer.

Angie Mixon was born and raised in Savannah, GA. After graduating high school, Angie attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Upon graduation, Angie worked at Memorial Health and furthered her education by receiving a Masters of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner.

Angie has worked in the Savannah medical community for the past 30 years. She is a valued member of the community, as are her parents. Her husband Padgett Mixon is a Georgia Tech graduate originally from Sandersville, Georgia.

When Angie isn't working, she loves working in the yard, boating, traveling, and, most importantly, spending time with her family. She really enjoys attending her children's school and athletic events with her husband.

Terri Wease has lived in Savannah, GA, for over 30 years and has worked in the medical community as a Medical Office Assistant for 25 years. Terri has worked with Dr. Fabrizio and Angie Mixon, NP, for many years on Wilmington Island. She is a respected member of the medical community.

When not taking care of patients, Terri mostly enjoys spending time with her children and her dog, Savy. She also loves going to the beach and traveling.

Business Owner Testimony

We offer Direct Primary Care to our team at Oelschig Nursery. Recently, we added Premier Medical Direct Primary Care as one of the practices available to our team.  Dr. Adrienne Fabrizio and Angie Mixon, FNP-C have provided excellent service and care. I continue to get positive feedback that their practice is personable and accessible. They made it convenient for our team members to enroll by coming to our office to conduct the initial medical consult. I recommend offering Premier Medical Direct Primary Care to your team as a health care option!

Frequently asked questions -- answered by Dr. Fabrizio

YES!  We couldn't believe it either.  We have talked to many patients who are already participating in this model of primary care as well as numerous physicians.  Not one single person said that they didn't LOVE it!  This model allows the focus to be on our relationship.  Our goal is to provide excellent care paralleled with excellent service!

Yes and no!  You will feel that you are getting concierge/boutique attention without the high price tag of their payment model.  Concierge/boutique practices still bill insurance companies, so copays and deductibles still apply.  Because they are dealing with insurance companies, their overhead costs are much higher which results in much higher membership fees.

You can still join Premier Medical Direct Primary Care; however, we do not participate in any Medicare plans.  This means that our services are not covered by Medicare, we do not bill Medicare and you cannot ask Medicare to reimburse you for the services that we provide.  By law, you will have to sign a waiver declaring that neither your doctor nor you will seek payment for our services.  Medicare will still cover anything that would typically be covered outside of our office such as hospitalizations, consultations with specialists, imaging, medication and lab testing.  Many patients find it more cost effective to pay cash to take advantage of our contracts for lab testing, imaging and medications.

Even though we don't participate in any insurance plans, we can still provide your primary healthcare.  There are no office visit copays or deductibles when using our services.  You can still use your insurance benefits to pay for your prescriptions at your pharmacy or to pay for imaging at your insurance preferred imaging center; however, many patients pay less taking advantage of our wholesale generic medications and contracts for imaging.  Membership fees are not reimbursable by your insurance company.

No.  Premier Medical Direct Primary Care is NOT a health insurance program.  It is very important to have a form of insurance (commercial, Medicare, exchange, etc.) to cover expensive or unpredictable events such as hospitalization, emergency room visits, surgery, specialists, etc.

Yes.  In order to provide this level of care and customer service, we will limit the number of patients that can join our practice.

Angie and I are a team.  I will be your doctor, but you will see both of us for your medical care.  We want to get to know all of our patients so that we can provide the best care.

Yes.  All of our patients will be set up on an auto-payment plan from your checking account or your credit/debit card.

This is a tricky question!  I recommend that you consult with your accountant or tax professional as the answer is situation specific.

Yes.  Because we have a limited patient panel, you will have access to same day or next day visits.

Yes and no.  If you feel that you have an emergency, call 911!  If your issue or question can wait until the next business day, then it should wait until the next business day.  We are available 24/7 and trust your judgement on what warrants contacting us outside of usual business hours.

We will be in communication with your hospital team and will arrange a follow up visit with us once you are discharged.

No.  We do not offer pain management services.  We can occasionally prescribe pain medication for acute problems such as an injury, but cannot treat chronic pain.  However, we can refer you to a pain management specialist.

We can coordinate your referral with your insurance company which will cover consultation within their guidelines.

Your membership fee covers annual lab work.  We have contracts for additional labs and imaging (x-ray, CT, MRI, etc.) at significant savings.  We can typically draw additional lab work that you need at our office.

With modern technology, we can usually accommodate you even if you are not available to come into the office via phone call, email, text message or telemedicine.  We can even send prescriptions to an out of town pharmacy if the need arises.
